Sorry I didn't post anything for last week!

Religion: We're into "Advent" now and on Monday we learned that the Prophets foretold of the Savior's coming long before he came! On Thursday and Friday we'll learn about the naming of the Savior.

Math:
M - L 51 Counting Coins
T - L 52 Symmetry
W - L 53 Adding two-digit numbers using dimes and pennies
Th - L 54 " "
F - L 55 parts one and two Addition facts sums of 15, 16, 17, 18, a Written Assessment, and Measuring to the nearest foot.

Reading: We started "The Paper Crane" story today and the students developed their own questions to quiz their classmates on what they had read. We will work with this story the rest of the week.
We recalled with a worksheet what asking, telling, and strong feeling sentences are punctuated with.

Spelling: The spelling seminar opened my eyes to a different and more practical approach to spelling. Instead of studying for a "Friday Spelling Test" (which only requires short term memory) we're going to work on long term memory by actively recalling previous words and high-frequency words. SO! If you don't see a list of spelling words for the next week don't be alarmed. You'll get a list of spelling words after the test and these words are the the ones your child needs to work on. P.E. : We've been doing some basketball and basketball skills (passing and dribbling) and we've REALLY been working on good sportsmanship.

Science: We've done some research on Habitats and Monday and Tuesday we began actually creating our habitat dioramas. The students are working in pairs to create these dioramas. We will finish them this week and they will be dispalyed inside the classroom.

Social Studies: Monday was review of Unit 3 and Tuesday we took the test on Unit 3. On Wednesday we will start Unit 4 called Our Country Today. Lesson 1 is called Local Goverment

Art is on Thursday. We will also have a Radical Reptile presentation on Thursday.
